Abstract

Indonesia also has a luxurious eco-system eco-system. Consumer preferences were shifted. If many people of Indonesia hunt for branded goods preloved (former), now they are increasingly able to buy a new one. The demand for new goods from blue-chip brands is skyrocketing year-on-year, especially in e-commerce. Last year, total branded goods transactions rose 37% over the previous period, while total spending sped 50%. Such information is needed in finding the factors causing a consumer to buy or not to buy with attention to the differences in expectations and consumer needs.
With a simple dictionary definition, the word "luxury" often refers to something that is considered more of an indulgence than a necessity, something desirable that gives pleasure and comfort but is hard to come by and is often expensive (TheFreeDictionary.com, n.d.). To elaborate on this definition, Kapferer and Bastien (2012) luxury experts imply that the concept of luxury associated with "valued hedonistic experiences or products made with expectations" is significantly higher than the functional value to be suggested, and that the distribution of goods is deliberately limited to maintain exclusive image. Therefore, having a luxury product desired by others makes consumers feel special, and acts as a social differentiator and status communication tool.
Research method used in this research is qualitative method, with approach of deksiptif that is research which give picture to reader and reveal a problem, condition, event, and how to reveal facts in detail. Meanwhile, according to Bagdan & taylor (in Moleong, 2002), the qualitative research is a research procedure that uses descriptive data in the form of written or oral words of people and behavior that can be observed.

UNIVERSITAS MERCU BUANA

Abstract

Indonesia is a democratic country based on Pancasila that allows all citizens, including those from minority groups to nominate themselves as political leaders. One of the political leaders who came from minority groups in Indonesia is Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or popularly called Ahok who once served as the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province. Ahok is a governor who is considered successful in carrying out his duties. But how is the figure of Ahok in the eyes of Muslim voters? This study aims to determine whether religious Muslim women acknowledge the success of Ahok as Governor? If success is acknowledged but the majority refuse to vote for him then it shows non-tolerant attitude and clash of civilization as Samuel Huntingtons (2009) thesis. But if the majority want to vote for Ahok then it shows Muslims have a tolerant attitude. The research method used is a survey with questionnaires accompanied by structured interviews. A total of 503 Muslim women in Jakarta were selected as respondents. Sampling was done purposively with the criteria of Muslim women wearing hijab. The results showed that the number of Muslim religious women who experienced the clash of civilizations in Jakarta is 48.7% which means showing a moderate impact level.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research that aims to determine the relationship of self-efficacy with subjective well being of the people living with HIV / AIDS (ODHA) in Jakarta. Self-efficacy is using the theory of Bandura (1997) and subjective well-being based on the theory of Diener (2010). Self effifacy consists of three dimensions, contains (level), breadth (generality) and strength (Strength). Subjective well-being includes two dimensions of cognitive and affective dimensions. A total of 70 respondenst of ODHA who are willing to become respondent captured from two foundations, namely AM and PK in Jakarta into the sample, taken through purposive sampling technique, with the sample criteria have HIV / AIDS and 17-50 years old. Researchers using a measuring instrument PANAS (The Positive and Negative Affect scales, Watson & Tellegen, 1988 ) to measure the dimensions of affection, and the Satisfaction With Life Scale (Diener, 2010) for the cognitive dimension in measuring subjective well being variable. Self efficacy measurement tool compiled by researchers. Validity and reliability both of the instruments have proven. From the results of correlation using the Pearson r values 0.774 obtained with p value 0.00 and 0.05 significance level (p <0.05). This shows that there is a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy with subjective well being in people living with HIV in Jakarta. Thus, the higher self-efficacy, the higher its subjective well-being. Self-efficacy has the strongest contribution with the affective dimension, which means belief in ODHA to their ability to control the functioning of their self and events in the environment contribute most to the positif or negative feelings he had felt towards life.

The scale of moral identity used is the scale developed by Baker (2015). Primary school age is the age at which individual moral identity develops. Moral identity itself develops through the interaction between the children and their social environment.
From the results of this preliminary study, researchers will create an intervention program that is anti corruption education for children. This intervention is aimed to form the mental of anti corruption in children. It is expected that students can improve their moral understanding including understanding anti-corruption behavior. Abstract

Organizational culture sounds common but very interesting and yet challenging to be applied. Every organization needs to have its own system of how to do effective operations and create strategy for people management to achieve high performance. Organizational culture can help organization to set up the guidance that can lead to be a system. Furthermore organizational culture is unique because some can be adapted from other cultures and has impact and relations to other subjects such as motivation. We acknowledge motivation as an internal factor that makes employee has willingness to accomplish daily duties. This paper uses organizational culture theory developed by Cameron and Quinn (1999). This theory has complete understanding of how we can describe organizational culture itself from 4 (four) clusters; Clan, Adhocracy, Hierarchy, and Market. Clan culture has concern to develop people by giving opportunity to employees to participate actively with management to grow the organization. By applying adhocracy culture, organization promotes risk taking and innovativeness spirit for the employees. Market is a type of culture that organization has specific targets to be achieved by employees and this system will be a guidance to analyze the working performance. Last culture type is Hierarchy which organization has complete rules and regulations for all employees to do daily activities. The motivation theory of Herzberg is also used in this research to help in giving clear information related to degree of employee motivations. PT. X in Jakarta will be the population for this research in finding the correlations of organizational culture and employee motivations. Organization with good culture can develop better system to keep employees to be motivated in daily working activities.

EKSISTENSI TVKU SEMARANG DALAM ERA KOMPETISI INDUSTRI MEDIA DI INDONESIA
EISHA AYU PANGESTIKA

UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO SEMARANG

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Personal Identity and Communication Behavior of LGBT Communities in Instagram

Mardhiyyah
Rizqi Putra Pratama

Lesbian, Gay, Bisex, and Transgender (LGBT) is an issue that has been the focus of the Indonesian public in recent years. The existence of gender equality demands from the LGBT community could invite controversy because it is very contrary to the eastern culture of Indonesia. Therefore, LGBT community members prefer to hide their identity and only show their identity to fellow members of the community in certain ways. One of them is through social media like Instagram.
This study was conducted to find out the steps that LGBT community members are doing in demonstrating their identity and communication behavior that they show to their fellow members of the community, their families, and the people around them. This research uses Qualitative approach with Phenomenology research method that try to explore this problem as deep as possible.
The purpose of this study is to determine the steps they take to show their identity through Instagram social media and the communication behaviors they show to fellow members of the community, the family, and the people around them.
The results of this study are the discovery of categories and special designations for LGBT community members, especially for gay and lesbians. In addition, it was revealed that most members of the LGBT community prefer to hide their sexual disorientation because they feel they are a minority that has not been well received by the community. However, they have a certain way of showing their identity to fellow LGBT people. One of them is through social media instagram that can help them to find new acquaintances, satisfy sexual desire, and personal branding to open themselves or close themselves as an LGBT. This can be seen from the way they upload photos and make captions in their photos with figurative languages that only their fellow members can understand.

Abstract

Professional identity is a process of never-ending reciprocity between changes in both structural and attitudinal, which results in a self-conceptualization in a work-related settings. It serves as a frame of reference, to individuals carrying their economic activities in such a way, so they can make significant decisions and grows as a professional throughout their career path. This rings true for Indonesian photojournalists as they attempts, for the first time after 18 years of establishment, to construct their standard of competence - an issue of urgency in ASEAN Economic Community. This qualitative research aims to answer the question of what do photojournalists do, in order to gain understanding of their professional identity and their complexity. Using semi-structured interview with eleven experts representing the diversity of Indonesian Photojournalists Association, it unearths the following result. Becoming visual scribes are the core part of their professional identity as they aim to showcase the world their version of reality of Indonesia. It turns out to be a complex task as they need to constantly negotiate the continuous dilemma faced on day-to-day basis. This research suggests a follow up study - especially with the call from the Press Council to improve journalists standard of competence (Standar Kompetensi Wartawan/SKW) to ensure high quality of journalism.

University of Mercu Buana jakarta

Abstract

This paper describes the results of research on how sindonews.com and kompas.com frames coverage of Jesica Wongso case during September - October 2016. This research uses Framing Analysis method with approach of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Koisicki. This approach analyzes the preaching through four structures: syntactic structure (title, lead, background information, source citation, closing), script structure (5W + 1H), thematic structure (paragraphs, propositions, sentences, interpersonal relationships) and rhetorical structures (words, idioms, pictures/photos, graphics). Research results show: sindonews.com pay less attention to the completeness of the news, while kompas.com has applied the principle of completeness of the news in writing the news case of Jesica. Sindonews quotes more than just a resource person, unlike Kompas.com quoting more informants. From the rhetorical side, Sindonews.con and kompas.com both emphasize words and images on given events. Conclusion: both online media Sindonews.com and Kompas.com are equally seen trying to build news construction. Kompas.com more trying to invite readers to be closer to the reality that happened. from Sindonews.com.
